The Musical
Theatre Program at Adrian College is a collaborative
degree offered by the Music and Theatre Departments.
Courses in Acting, Dance and Stage Design are
offered by the Theatre Department, while Voice
Lessons and Music Skills are taught by the Music
Department. The college sponsors a full musical
production each fall and a Scenes
Workshop each spring. In addition to these
productions, the Theatre Department offers several
other opportunities for extensive stage experience.

The Musical
Theatre degree focuses on the development of
singing, acting and dancing. These components are
combined in productions and during weekly studio
class performances. Musical Theatre students perform
a jury at the end of each semester demonstrating
their individual growth in each of these areas. In
their senior year, Musical Theatre students perform
a "Senior Show" which they themselves design, stage,
choreograph and perform. Perspective students may

Theatre courses required for the Musical Theatre

In addition to
college-sponsored productions, the Music Department
also produces The Annual Broadway Revue. This
show traditionally takes place in January and is designed and directed
entirely by Adrian College students. For the past
two years, over 40 students have been included in
the cast of this very popular
annual production. For more information on Broadway
Revue, click

Students may
also take advantage of the community productions at
the Croswell Opera House and the Tecumseh Civic
Auditorium. Each year these community theatres
produce a handful of musicals and straight theatre
productions. Casting calls are made to the college
and community for all of their productions. For more
